South Dakota Questers
"It's fun to search and a joy to find."
The Questers is an international study club which was founded in 1944 by Jessie Elizabeth Bardens. Its major objectives are to stimulate an appreciation of antiques and their collection and to encourage the preservation and restoration of existing historical landmarks. The motivating principles of the organization are to be found in the following words from Mrs. Bardens:
Antiques are part of human history, a tangible record of the things of everyday living. A fascinating hobby, the study of antiques gives the most pleasure to those who strive to learn all they can about where, when, why and how they were made. Through discovery and knowledge of antiques, we may bring the past to life and profit by the experiences of previous generations.”
2025 South Dakota Convention
The 2025 South Dakota Convention will be held in Yankton on September 5-6 at The Mead Center, 82 Mickelson Drive. Yankton.
Hotel Accommodations: A block of rooms has been reserved at the EconoLodge & Suites (2410 Broadway; 605-665-8717; $129 + tax) and Comfort Inn (611 West 23rd Street; 605-689-3400; $127 + tax). Make sure to mention Questers when reserving a room.

- Executive Board Meeting: Friday, September 5 at 4 pm in the Mead Museum
- Social Hour with Heavy Appetizers: Friday at 6 p.m. in the Mead Museum (open to all Questers)
- Discussion by Greg Holmstad: “Challenges in Restoring the Mead”
- Registration and Coffee: Saturday, September 6, 8:30-9:15 am, Mead Cultural Education Center, 82 Mickelson Drive
- Seminar “Art as Therapy in a Psychiatric Setting: Mr. Mead’s Philosophy”: 9:15-10 am
- Break and Bidding on Baskets: 10-10:15 am
- Annual Council Meeting: 10:15-11:30 am
- Break and Bidding on Baskets and Check 2nd Floor Exhibits: 11:30-noon

5e have a few remaining “Have you Hugged a Quester Today?” aprons that will be available for sale at the 2025 State Convention. Aprons are $25.
The aprons are heavy-duty and stain-resistant fabric, 65% Poly/35% Cotton, 2 pockets, extra-long ties and adjustable neck strap, screen-printed logo in Quester colors.
